At Chris Knott Insurance, we strongly believe in providing a high-level personal service throughout a policy’s lifecycle. As our business grew, it became evident that we needed a technological solution to help us manage information and get accurate quotes to our customers quickly. Without it, we could negatively impact customer satisfaction.
To that end, we began working with Open GI (OGI) in 1990 and started using their Core product. This provides us with an end-to-end solution when it comes to selling and processing insurance policies. Thanks to OGI’s continuous platform development, we have been customers of theirs ever since.

Using Core, we can quickly look up customer details for renewal quotes or set up new customers. We also have access to a wide range of insurers offering Commercial and Personal Insurance, including a panel of products for Motor Insurance, Truck Insurance and Home Insurance. This helps us to find the right insurance for the right price for our customers.
When it comes to risk profiling, enrichment services ensure accuracy. This helps us to provide accurate quotes to our customers and make sure that they have the right level of cover in place.
Core’s customisable workflows then allow us to quickly and efficiently process documentation, freeing up the valuable time of our colleagues. Many time-consuming tasks are completely automated, while manual ones are made hassle-free. This is a benefit to our customers too as it means that phone calls with us are faster and the periods between calls are shorter. Once we’ve taken customer details, we can simply and easily access the available products. On top of this, the system then holds all of the information securely.
Other useful features include the ability to store customer preferences, such as how they like to receive information. Core also gives us the ability to email all of our quotes and documents, which has saved us a lot of money in postage and paper.
The software’s reporting functionality has been invaluable too. Core is an integrated system, which means that we have many of our premium accounting functions included. We can create custom reports for key areas of business as well as use the ready-made MI and Compliance Reports that come with the platform.
