Alps Ltd is a specialist provider of add-on insurance products, dedicated to doing the right thing in the insurance industry for nearly 30 years. Operating across four core pillars; motor, commercial lines, personal lines, and let property, Alps offers a comprehensive suite of 26 to 27 distinct add-on products designed to provide robust, extra protection for policyholders.
As part of their ongoing mission to become the UK’s leading add-on provider, Alps recognised the need to continuously evolve alongside the changing market and put their products directly in front of brokers on the industry’s leading platforms.
Prioritising the Broker Experience
Historically, brokers looking to secure Alps’ products had to log in and transact through the provider’s standalone in-house portal. While effective, this process created fragmented journeys, requiring brokers to double-key customer information across multiple systems.
Listening closely to broker feedback, Alps identified a clear shift towards software house-based operations. Martin Green, Head of Business Development at Alps, explains: “The feedback from speaking to our brokers was clear. It made complete sense to be where they are and to remove that administrative burden when they are keying in customer data. It saves them valuable time, and they are the ones on the frontline dealing with the customers.”
Rapid Traction and Streamlined Trading
By integrating with Open GI’s Add-on Marketplace (AOM), Alps has successfully eliminated the friction of disconnected trading systems. Brokers can now seamlessly bind essential add-on covers without leaving their primary policy admin system.
The market response to the integration has been immediate and highly positive. “We have a number of brokers selling on there now,” says Martin. “In the last month or two alone, we’ve increased active brokers trading on the platform by about 50%. It is certainly gaining a lot of traction, and brokers are really starting to take notice of the products available.”
A Foundation for Future Growth
The partnership with Open GI supports Alps’ broader strategy for market expansion and proactive product distribution. By aligning their technology with the daily workflows of their broker network, Alps has unlocked a highly scalable new distribution channel.
“As a company, we are always looking to grow and find new markets to work in,” Martin concludes. “But mainly, we listen to our brokers. We always encourage them to be open and honest with their feedback, whether it’s good, bad, or ugly.
“If our brokers want a specific product available, or want us to be on a platform, we listen. People are talking about this integration, they are invested in the platform, and we look forward to continuing to distribute our products to match exactly what our partners need.”
