The updates should give more flexibility, reduce referrals, and save more time when getting a quote. They include:
· Variable Accidental Damage, Fire & Theft (ADFT) and glass/windscreen excess options are now available with pricing differentiation. So, you can now quote with a £500, £750 or £1,000 ADFT excess, also with the option to increase the glass/windscreen (e.g. £250 instead of a standard £75), in favour of a lower premium.
· The number of system referral triggers have been further reduced, which should lead to a faster quote decision.
A common referral trigger is where there are high value or high group cars on the schedule. To help avoid this you could exclude drivers under the age of 30 in respect of such vehicles, unless absolutely necessary.
The main benefit of QBE Mini Fleet is the flexibility to insure 3-15 cars, vans, minibuses, trucks (up to 7.5T), agricultural vehicles, special types, or a whole mix of vehicles on one policy. You can read more about it by downloading a PDF factsheet from the QBE website, which outlines the covers available and core appetite.
It’s worth noting that QBE has a very strong appetite to write company car-based fleets.
There’s currently little appetite for writing sole proprietor risks at new business, nor is QBE actively looking to write No Claims Discount (NCD) conversions.
QBE believes in ‘e-trade with a human touch’ rather than a ‘computer says no’ call centre. You’ll find that the SME team are open for business and empowered to have conversations with you, to tailor a package and ensure all your customers have the right cover for their needs.
